About Ocean Bottle:

At Ocean Bottle, our vision is to restore the health of the ocean to a better state than we inherited it. We do this by bringing people together to fund plastic collection. We create award-winning reusable bottles and cups, with every product sold funding the collection of 1000 plastic bottles in weight - before they reach the ocean. To date, we’ve collected the equivalent of 1.7 billion plastic bottles from ocean-bound regions.

We believe that we don’t need a handful of people doing sustainability perfectly, we need millions doing it imperfectly. Our products and solutions enable consumers and businesses to drive this change and support refill behaviour whilst funding plastic collection.

As a brand, we are change makers - we bring people together, we pioneer solutions and we connect others to the power of the ocean. Are you ready to join us on this mission?

What you’ll be doing:

We are looking for a high-performing Social Media & Content Lead to take ownership of our social channels and digital community presence. You’ll lead on the strategy, production, and performance of all social content. From ideation to publishing and evaluation, to growing our audience, building brand advocacy, and rallying support around our mission.

You’ll work closely with our Creative, Growth, and Impact teams to plan and execute a compelling and forward-thinking content calendar that resonates with both new and existing audiences. This is a highly creative and operational role - we’re looking for someone who understands what makes content high-performing, and who can move fast from strategy to execution. You will drive our community management to help us strengthen and build insights from our community. This role requires hands-on short-from video content creation and editing.

This role focuses primarily on social media content, but will also support content planning for our broader channels including email, and work closely with our Growth team on blog content to ensure alignment with our Content Calendar across all key touchpoints.

Additionally, you will :

  • Own and execute the social media strategy across all channels (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube), ensuring consistency, innovation, and platform-native execution.

  • Plan and manage a forward-looking content calendar (3-month horizon), in collaboration with Creative and Impact teams.

  • Create and deliver high-quality content - including video-first content, short-form edits, visual assets, captions, and scheduling - aligned with brand values and social trends. Note this role will work with our Designers to develop static content.

  • Lead rapid production and editing cycles, optimising turnaround speed for reactive and trend-based content. Increase the frequency and engagement of content across our social media channels.

  • Use social media analytics tools (e.g. Dash, Later, Sprout, or native platforms) to track performance, optimise content, and report monthly on KPIs including engagement, reach, growth, and community sentiment.

  • Develop and implement a community engagement strategy that builds loyalty, drives conversations, and turns followers into advocates. Actively manage and nurture our online community across social platforms, responding to comments, DMs, and mentions in a timely, brand-aligned voice.

  • Work with the Head of Marketing to develop strategic campaigns, product launches, Founder content and storytelling series that drive awareness, loyalty, and community involvement.

  • Keep ahead of platform best practices, trends, formats and algorithm changes, applying learnings to evolve content approach.

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, B2B, Impact, Product, and PR teams to align messaging and ensure integrated storytelling across touchpoints.

  • Support and develop UGC, influencer and ambassador content strategies in partnership with the wider marketing team.

  • Oversee and scope out influencer marketing activities, inclusive of identifying new influencer opportunities based on reach, brand affiliation and content deliverables. Support delivery of influencer gifting and collaboration.
